I use my Kitchen-Aid Mixer at least five times a week, if not everyday. It’s so universal and it was on the top of my list for things I wanted when we decided to downsize. We have several attachments and I have a couple of more that I would like to round it all out. Because it is so big, we do keep it on our counter at all times. The attachments we have stored in bins that we keep underneath the futon.
Bread:
I have been making my own bread for a while now and using the Kitchen-Aid just makes it that much easier. Normally I’ll use the paddle attachment at the beginning and then knead myself. There are a few other recipes that it’s easier to use the whisk, then paddle, then dough hook. It really just depends on how many other things I’m doing at the same time.
Pasta:
When mixing the flour and eggs I usually just use a wooden spoon, then after the dough as set, I use the pasta attachments. My husband mounted my pasta drying rack underneath our cabinets so it’s very convenient and saves space! The attachments we have roll the dough out for thickness and then we have spaghetti and fettuccine cutter. I want the attachment that will use the dough to make different shapes like macaroni and penne.
Shredder:
The shredder attachment is amazing. We buy block cheese and shred as needed so it’s fresh and doesn’t have additives in it.
Grinder:
Now that I’m making homemade ravioli on a weekly basis, I am loving the grinder!
