It feels like we have been searching for a community in our RV for EVER. When we started out at the first park in Perry, Kansas it was community-like, but not really. We made friends with the people around us, but they weren't doing the lifestyle on purpose like we were. Something was off.
Next, we moved to the Kansas state parks, and while people were doing it on purpose there still wasn't a community. We found people with kids - mostly weekend warriors, but they were also out there to spend time as a family so the lack of socialization was still there.
We left Kansas for Alabama, and while I'm grateful for that park in Summerdale, it wasn't another giant bust for our search for community.
Enter an entirely NEW way to do this life.
Now that we were in the south we were near Thousand Trails parks - more on that later. After we upgraded our membership to the Elite Connections our membership specialist mentioned that joining Fulltime Families was totally worth it. I'd seen it talked about on the Facebook groups for a very long time, I just didn't know if it was truly worth it. Eric said it was and highly recommended it. So I bit the bullet and joined. In January we took off for Florida and our Thousand Trails Adventure. While our first park was a bust and I only ran into one other family there our next was FILLED with new people to meet and friends.
We went to Peace River on January 26, 2021. Let me say it was an absolute GAME CHANGER!
I joined the group chat and started meeting people. It was phenomenal. Nothing like we'd ever seen before.
It's currently March 10 and we have traveled with some families that we met at Peace River, we've met back up with families from there and we have plans in the future to meet families too.
The top picture is of my son with a new friend of ours at Blue Spring State Park when we went to go see manatees.
