Busch Gardens – Tampa Bay

Let's talk about the animals at Busch Gardens!

For Hanukkah 2021 we got an animal encounter to feed the giraffes!

What an amazing experience. They told us on the back of the truck that lettuce is like the ice cream truck so these guys love to come over.

They would take the lettuce right out of your hands, even if you weren't paying attention.

The second they saw the truck pull into their area they came right over. These two were such a joy to interact with!

If you are at least 4 or 5, I can't remember, you can go around in the Kangaroo exhibit. They come up to the fence for pets too.

One day there was a baby in the pouch and the mom had had enough - she just started smacking the pouch til the joey held still. It was hilarious!

I believe they have feed out front too.

We've done the all-day dining here too - but since this post is about the animals - here's a shot of us eating pizza and watching the giraffes. This was actually the same day that we fed them.

When we sat down to eat, Jason said, we're going to have a snack first and then give them one!

I clearly need to take more photos when we go to Busch Gardens. We were able to use our additional guest tickets to bring a family with us in January. It was such a nice day. This park is bigger and more spread out than SeaWorld. The animals are spread out throughout the park and they even have a care center that is set up for surgery - we haven't seen any animals there yet, but we did watch a food demonstration where they talked about animal nutrition. Since this park is in Tampa and we're in Orlando, we do go here less.
