Butcher Run

Part of what really helps my anxiety is to be prepared food wise. We might not always have exactly what sounds delicious at the moment, but we always have something. Being that we really like to cook, we can always whip together something tasty.

I wanted to go to the butcher for a few reasons. First off, I love to support local mom and pop type businesses. To me it’s very important, especially during this time. Second off, I like the idea of food security. When you just don’t know what is going to happen it’s nice to know that you have what you need inside to take care of your family. To help ease my own anxiety, I like to plan, so I was able to meal plan what we’re going to have to make sure I can make the most of my grocery store trips. I picked Steve’s Meat Market in Desoto, Kansas. Click Here to check them out. We’ve been there several times before and they always do a wonderful job. I know the quality is high and I also appreciate the prices and service. They offer online ordering and wonderful bundles. They have a Spring Grilling Bundle for $99. It has ground chuck, boneless skinless chicken breasts, pork butt, pork chops and baby back ribs. They will have everything wrapped for us. I got a confirmation call this afternoon letting me know that the order was ready. You pay when you pick up your order.

Being that I am a planner, I really appreciate Steve’s Meat Market for their business.

I was pleasantly surprised to realize that all of the chicken, ground beef and pork butt fit into our freezer. Buying 10 pounds of ground beef and 10 pounds of chicken breasts is something that I would do frequently. It’s nice to know that we can look at the different bulk packages with those choices for the future.
