Girl Wash Your Face, by Rachel Hollis
I finished the audible version of Girl Wash Your Face today. Overall, I really enjoyed it.
I loved the fact that the chapters were about lies you tell yourself. I was able to relate to every single one. I thought she was incredibly brave for telling her story and writing about her very vulnerable moments.
One of the main things that really sticks with me about this book is the fact that she just keeps pushing herself. She decides she’s going to do it and does it. I also liked how she makes promises to herself and then never breaks them.
She’s been through a lot of hard things in her life and keeps on trucking, which I think that’s something that many people need to hear.
There was one chapter that I was not a fan of, but I can appreciate that it was her point of view.
I wouldn’t say that this book is enough to keep me motivated all year round, but I did like it. I do recommend this for people wanting a dose of reality in life. If you are listening/reading with an open heart, and ready to embrace change it should bring up some thought provoking topics for you to ponder.
