Knit & Crochet

One of the main things about tiny living is making sure that everything you have has a place. It's important that your things don't take over the area you do have.

I enjoy knitting and crocheting and needed to figure out a system to make this a feasible hobby to take on the road with me.

Below you will find my three bag system. Three bags might seem like a bit of an overkill, however, it works great for what I need.

This is my overstock bag. It used to be my regular yarn bag, but it's too big and doesn't work with space I have now. So I am keeping crochet hooks and knitting needles I'm not using as well as the yarn I'm going to use in a current project or leftover yarn from a past project.

This bag is stored underneath my bed and easily accessible. Since it's not something that holds a current project, it doesn't need to be out.

This was the most expensive bag I've purchased, so I'm glad I can still use it.

Yarn Bag - Large

This is my crochet bag. It's tiny, but I absolutely love it. It houses everything I need for a project! I've got two skeins of yarn in it now, the purple and the white for the stripes plus a full set of hooks!
{btw, I LOVE these hooks, they are light and wonderful. I broke one the second day I had it, so I highly recommend keeping the storage case it comes in, AND in this bag, that case fits in the open pocket}

Lastly, here's my knitting bag. I'm still learning on how to knit though. The small crochet bag didn't have room for the extra large knitting needles I purchased nor room for a different set of yarn for those projects.

This bag also fits nicely in the spot I designated for my crochet bag as well.

When I'm not knitting or crocheting my bags are put away where they belong.

Left - under the bed, that's the big bag

Right- those are the current project bags. This is next to my side of the bed. I can reach them from bed, and put them back away too. It's so accessible.

I hope you enjoyed reading about my yarn system! I don't usually keep my projects, especially if they are big blankets. I enjoy knitting and crocheting and it's a part of anxiety relief as well as self-care.
